Learning that changes lives

The Dementia Learning Centre Te Pūtahi Akoranga mō Te Mate Wareware is Alzheimers New Zealand’s hub of excellence for dementia education.

Our kaupapa

Our kaupapa is centred around transforming the way dementia mate wareware is understood and supported across Aotearoa New Zealand.

People are at the heart of everything we do. We believe everyone has the fundamental right to feel supported, valued and loved. Through learning, we strengthen understanding, challenge stigma and inspire support that protects dignity, upholds human rights and enables people living with dementia mate wareware to live meaningful lives.

We bring together lived experience, practice wisdom and research evidence to create meaningful, accessible learning for individuals, whānau, communities and the workforce.

Through collaboration and the thoughtful use of technology, we connect people, build confidence and strengthen capability. Our learning goes beyond the classroom, helping people turn knowledge into compassionate, culturally responsive and person-centred practice that creates lasting change.
